In a speech at Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich., today, President Obama veered off his prepared remarks to take this shot at some of the "it's Obama's economy" critics:

I love those folks who helped get us in this mess, and suddenly they say, "This is Obama's economy." That's fine. Give it to me. My job is to solve problems, not stand on the sidelines and carp and gripe.

He also admitted that some of the jobs lost in the auto industry were gone forever, a "hard truth" for many people in Michigan.

Obama used the speech to announce his administration's plan to increase community college graduates, offer funding and loans to community colleges and change the way federal loans and student aid works.

At what point is it Obama's economy?
Granted, he inherited a mess; yet it was his appointment of Goldman Sac(Ks)boys.

The housing market has crumbled and continues to wipe out the middle class.
Then he can smugly say in Essence "bring it on"

No; he isn't standing on the sidelines;, but the medicine to get us out of this demise, is not favoring the middle class, instead the rich banker class.

Listen to T geithner, “We must save the banks or else” Or else what? Capitalism would be destroyed?
Therein addresses whom he serves. You cannot serve two masters, and he has chosen the wrong course.

Dean Baker, J Stiglitz and Paul Krugman warned him.

Now I suppose Obama will chime up and say Of course hind sight is always better"
Obama was warned and it was his decision as to who to listen to.
Regretfully he listened to the class best able to weather the storm.

As the middle class is destroyed I'm afraid the rest will follow into destruction. Of course Obama will say it was someone else who caused the problem, and he'd be right. It was his prescription that further exacerbated the condition.

The END.

I guess someone is benefiting under Obama's watchful eye?
I guess the lesson to be learned is "You of the working class should have invested with Goldman, how dare you think another asset class would be protected by YOUR Government.
Hard lesson to learn that YOUR Government serves money. Serves Riches.

You are somewhat correct, but may I politely and respectfully point out. The majority of employers in this country are small mom and pop companies, (in other words the middle class), who are really feeling this economy right now.

I know many small business owners who have been forced to lay off workers who have been with them for 15 and 20 years (more of the middle class) because the projects they are working on are not being funded by the banks. Credit is still that tight. Others are worried that their lines of credit will not be renewed. Lines of credit that are used as a bridge to make payroll and other obligations. I won't even begin to start about CA and the IOU's, that is a whole other issue to be concerned about.

These employers take their obligations to their employees (friends) seriously and are sickened that they are in this type of position. So, let's not forget that there are really good people out there, people who have always done the right thing by their employees and neighbors, but have their hands tied by this mess. These are the people I consider when focusing on the banks. I don't give a rat's ass about the big banks and I hope Obama forces them to become smaller by breaking them up.

It is really scary out there. Without the small mom and pops are we destined to be controlled even more by large corporations? Let's hope not.

I also know some people who work for small local banks, (the backbone of lending in towns and communities and more members of the middle class). They are spending much of their time complying with TARP and they are worried and stressed, because they too care about their customers/neighbors.

It is still a mess out there, but there is some light. Try to focus on the middle class employers, workers, bankers and it may put things into perspective.

Just my humble opinion.

You are aware, aren't you, that Bush hired the CEO of Goldman Saks to be his Treasury Secretary?

I can assure you, I am well aware that Obama, and Bush are both Capitalists. They will always protect that class interest.

Dick day wrote a very good blog on the subject of he Goldman Sacs tentacles

Not only did Bush surround himself with Goldman people, evidently Obama finds they make good counselors for his administration too.

The people may have the vote, but Goldman Sacs runs our treasury.
How’s that working out? Who benefits? I know, do you?

“Deny it as may the cunning capitalists who are clear-sighted enough to perceive it, or ignore it as may the torpid workers who are too blind and unthinking to see it, the struggle in which we are engaged today is a class struggle, and as the toiling millions come to see and understand it and rally to the political standard of their class, they will drive all capitalist parties of whatever name into the same party, and the class struggle will then be so clearly revealed that the hosts of labor will find their true place in the conflict and strike the united and decisive blow that will destroy slavery and achieve their full and final emancipation.”
“Ignorance alone stands in the way of socialist success. The capitalist parties understand this and use their resources to prevent the workers from seeing the light.
Intellectual darkness is essential to industrial slavery.”
Eugene Debbs

I suppose you think the Capitalists just wanted to give the American worker, Social Security or Medicare because they loved the workers? The working class struggled for these benefits. They struggled against Capitalist forces; to fight against employers making workers work in dangerous factories, as they lost hands and limbs without OSHA Regulations. Or child labor laws, 40 hour work weeks, another hard fought battle.
The working class fought for it. It was in their interest to fight for it and they achieved it.
But I suspect your just spouting off as though you really cared except to ridicule?

What term has been used to describe persons not knowing the particular term to describe the relationships of groups. ie. Royalty vs. peasantry; or master class vs. servant class.
You mock the term as old fashioned; do you have a better term that clearly defines the separation? Ignorant is an old word too but in most cases, it still applies. What or whose interest do you serve?
Stupid comes to mind. Or how about apathetic jerks? To describe those who don't realize the Caste system in America.
