GOP Rep: 'There Are Death Counselors'

Rep. John Mica (R-FL) is soldiering on with the right wing claims that health care reform legislation would include provisions for "death counselors."
Mica told a local radio station, "There are death counselors. There is authorization for reimbursement for those counselors for Medicare. You have a whole new cottage industry."
Mica is presumably referring to a provision in the House bill which would allow Medicare to reimburse doctors for counseling sessions in which they discuss end of life care, living wills and the like with patients.

So now they're against jobs too? Having worked on many estate plans, I'm not sure how much a cottage would stack up to the current high-rises anyway. This is a HUGE market. Yes, I made some good money "death counseling".

I just can't see why the US don't have room for people of both sides. If some people don't want to pay for and receive social health care, then they shouldn't be forced into it. Better yet, we should encourage them to move Texas, and allow Texans to be exempted. Problem is solved and everyone get what they want.
