Speaking to a conservative radio show, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) said socialists are pushing gay marriage because they have "to plow through marriage in order to get to their goal" of undermining the "foundations of individual rights and liberties."
"Not only is it a radical social idea, it is a purely socialist concept in the final analysis," King said, according to The Hill.
If there's a push for a socialist society where the foundations of individual rights and liberties are undermined and everybody is thrown together living collectively off one pot of resources earned by everyone, this is one of the goals they have to go to, same sex marriage, because it has to plow through marriage in order to get to their goal. They want public affirmation, they want access to public funds and resources.
King condemned his state's legalization of same-sex marriage and said he was worried the United States might repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, which allows states to refuse to recognize same sex marriages or civil unions performed in other states.

It is way past time for someone to do some behavioral research and find out what makes these conservative shitheads get up in the morning. I honestly think devoting your time and breath to conspiracy ideas this stupid has a deeply rooted cause in human brain chemistry. The armed forces of America are a completely socialist organization right down to the healthcare ..... as are the local police and fire departments, as are public schools and libraries. What the hell are these poor souls REALLY afraid of? If we knew what causes this behavior we could do a better job of quieting it down. Answering their bullshit with logic just gets so tiring.

His comments about people pooling resources and living off the same pot of resources is right out of the Acts of the Apostles and the way Catholic religious orders are run. Socialism and gay marriage are not necessarily found together as a quick look at many leftist regimes will show. I was waiting for him to throw in a immigration bash as well as that has always been one of his favorite targets. Considering that his pre political work was moving dirt as a construction excavator his mudslinging is not surprising.

What's he getting at? Public roads and schools are gay because they are paid for from one big pot of money? Gay money has cooties and he doesn't want it making passes at his straight tax money?

pols cheat on their wives & fear everything? Apparently, you can be married, shag everything in sight, & not be responsible because muslims, nazis & socialists are the real problem.

How can this be? The Nazis sent homosexuals (and communists) to the concentration camps along with Jews, Gypsies and disabled people.
But the Nazis were LIBERALS!
OMG my head splodes.

You laugh, but why do you think Republican politicians have been caught up in so many gay scandals? They were permeated by the gayness of socialist Washington. If only they had worn tin foil hats!

Rep. King needs to study his Bible. It took Moses 40 years to lead the Children of Israel to the Promised Land because that's about how long it takes for a generation to die off.
So it is with the remnants of the once grand ol' party. They'll have to die since they cannot accept a black president, equal rights for all citizens (including women, browns, blacks, gays, immigrants, non-Christians, etc.)let alone a government that puts a premium on health care, education and climate change rather catering to big bidness or fomenting phoney wars that bankrupt the economy and sully our nation's reputation.
So let's be kind to these folks cause they are breathing their last and will soon expire due to a long list of hideous and terminal pre-existing conditions.

I'm confused. I thought we were pushing for gay marriage because it's a straight line from there to legalizing bestiality and incest! (And that's why we're pushing all that hetero porn that's really all gay porn.) Why didn't I get the memo about the new socialism plan? How I am supposed to keep our secret agendas secret if you don't share them with me?

"they want access to public funds and resources."
Ummm, people who are married actually get less in terms of public resources, remember having to pass tax reform to get rid of the "Marriage Penalty"? Or the push to get people on Welfare to get married to get them off of Welfare?
Marriage is generally considered a universal good as it help people that want to be family unit be recognized legally as a family unit so that they can support eachother without the government getting involved. If you an unmarried couple with only one adult employed outside the home, then the government is actually taxing transfers of the earner's salary to the stay-at-home partner. If you wan tthe government out of people's lives, which is what I thought conservatives were in favor of, then let same-sex couples form the family of their choice without the government telling they can't.

To be institutionalized due to Metal illness is defined as being a danger to yourself or others. I think this qualifies.
Also, to get a drivers permit in any state one has to pass a written exam. I guess there are no written exams on the constitution to be a congressman or senator. Someone should look into that.

Could it not be said, Rep. King, that consensually marrying whomever you want is a pretty strong expression of individual rights and liberties?

As long as Republicans keep associating socialism with good sane values and policies, eventually people will associate socialism with good sane values and policies. Oops! I'm just sayin'...

Have you also noticed the trend toward so call "heirloom" tomatoes in the liberal grocery stores.
That is part of Obama's Socialist agenda. Because you see, they need to plow right through red tomatoes to get to their Socialist agenda.
wtf?
Does this man actually pay attention to the words that are coming out of his mouth? It kind of reminds me of the Far Side cartoon "What your dog hears":
"Blah blah blah blah Rover. blah blah blah."
