Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) told Neil Cavuto on Fox News a few minutes ago that not only does he not support the Senate Finance Committee's health care reform bill -- but that there are moderate Democrats who also may not.
"A lot of individual colleagues in the Democratic caucus have big questions about this," the former Democratic vice presidential nominee said. "So this isn't over by any means."
Don Imus asked Lieberman yesterday whether he supported the Baucus bill -- before the Senate Finance Committee voted 14-9 to pass it -- and Lieberman said no. He reaffirmed that stance today.
"When I was asked yesterday, could I support the Finance Committee bill as it is, I said no. And I gotta tell you, I don't think I'm alone. I think there are other moderate Democrats who have a lot of questions about the bill."
Cavuto also brought up the prospect of Democrats passing health care reform through a 51-vote reconciliaition process.
"I think it would be a mistake," Lieberman said. "I also think it would really explode any hope of bipartisan cooperation for the rest of this session of Congress."

We just need to tell him that this bill will weaken Iran, and he will be all over it.

Who cares about "bipartisan cooperation"?!
...especially Lieberman's dreamworld version.
Either my state's junior senator cooperates with the Democratic Senate leadership, or he should be stripped of his chairmanship.

Lieberman is a no vote.
Hartford, the capitol of Connecticut, is the insurance capitol of the world. Do you think Joe Lieberman would rather represent the people of his state than the monied insurance lobby? Of course not.
I personally know a Lieberman aide who has said that there is no way in hell Lieberman is supporting ANY KIND of healthcare reform, much less the Baucus Bill.
And his calculus makes sense -- Lieberman knows he cannot get re-elected. He doesn't care about the people in CT. The more he appeal to these special interest groups, the more lucrative his post-Senate career will be.

He might run as a Republican in 2012????
The Dems surely don't want him, and I hear that Connecticut for Lieberman isn't too happy either

"Bipartisan cooperation?" Has he been hiding under a rock for the last 10 months?
I still can't believe the people of Connecticut--my birth state!--foisted this back-stabbing quisling on us.
