NRCC Brands 'Die Quickly' Rep 'Alan (dis)Grayson'

The National Republican Congressional Committee is raising money off Rep. Alan Grayson's (D-FL) claim this week that the Republican health care plan is little more than a suggestion that sick Americans "die quickly." Grayson has also called the health care crisis a "holocaust" and has called Republicans "foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals."

Now it's time for Republicans to do some name-calling. On the website alandisgrayson.com, the NRCC brands the Democrat Alan (dis)Grayson. The banner includes the words "Unethical. Embarrassing. Extreme." And his "die quickly" comment "falls far short of any decent human being's decorum."

The time has come to send (dis)Grayson home. That is why, Leader Boehner and NRCC Chairman Sessions are pleased to announce the official "FL-08 Nominee Fund." Any dollar donated to this fund will go directly to the Republican candidate who emerges from the primary to challenge (dis)Grayson in 2010.

There's lots more on the site -- including a poll on Grayson's "most embarrassing moment since he took office." At the time of this writing, "his disgraceful floor speech on health care" was beating "being named 'the Congressman from ACORN,'" "admitting that he'd rather be on vacation than doing his job" and "requesting a $350,000 earmark for a controversial organization run by a 'con-artist.'"

There's also a three-photo gallery. One shows Grayson making a two-finger peace sign. Another shows him holding a "Stop the War" sign while standing next to a woman holding a pink peace symbol. The other shows him posing with a black man who looks a lot like J. Willie David. The caption on each of the photos is "the many disgraceful photos of Alan Grayson."

I called Grayson's office yesterday. They were delighted with all the support they were getting. I then quicklly sent him a check towards his next campaign. The guy has only been in office 9 months and he is kicking ass. He wouldn't back down and I am so glad. Finally, a dem with some cohones.

I love Rachel but she irritated me last night. She had him on as a guest and kept asking him to retract his choice of the word Holocaust, like that word can only be used when describing what happened to the Jews. He wouldn't back down with her either. I say good for him and I am still peeved with Rachel.

The guy's a Jew. Almost half a million people are dying every decade because of fascist Republican obstruction. That doesn't compare to the 11 million who died in the Holocaust, but it is still a staggering number.

I think he should have avoided that word, simply because it is a distraction. Or maybe not. Anything accurate - like murder by spreadsheet - would have been a distraction too.

How do you know he's Jewish and if he is, then he can use the word Holocaust. And that word is not specific to what happened to the Jews.

PS:

Rachel annoyed me too - and I'm really a fan. She is a bit more PC than me. I'll be watching tonight though.

The reason I used the 11 million figure for the Holocaust is that that figure not only represents the 6 million Jews that died, but also the Serbs, other ethnicities, political victims and so on swept into Hitler's extermination program.

I pointed out that Grayson is a Jew because I think that knowing that adds some perspective to his comment.

What is wrong with peoples understanding of language?

A holocaust, is not The Holocaust.

Jesus, people need to get a clue.

Never thought of Orlando as a rabidly liberal place... is it? I guess I'm trying to figure out what does that do to his reelection chances. If it were e.g. downtown Seattle, he'd get something like +15% out of that.

Republicans are immature schoolyard bullies who love to namecall anyway. A couple of years ago they started - in lockstep - all referring to us as the "Democrat" party - just to be annoying. They attempted to rename us "The Democrat Socialist Party" or some such nonsense just this year.

After attempting to reason with em, I gave a few of those bullies a bloody nose or two in my time. They all ran crying and snitched - becoming a laughingstock in the process. Give em a few more (figurative) bloody noses and we'll have the whole country laughing at em.
