Former Alaska Governor and best-selling author Sarah Palin will break her long media silence by sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for a live interview on Monday, November 16 -- the day before Palin's memoir is released.

As we've pointed out, Palin's "Going Rogue" has already catapulted to the top of multiple bestseller lists. And her interview with Oprah -- which Oprah.com bills as "a world exclusive" -- seems sure to generate even more buzz for Palin's book.

According to the press release from The Oprah Winfrey Show, "Winfrey and Palin will meet for the very first time on the episode, which will mark Palin's first interview to discuss her upcoming book, 'Going Rogue: An American Life,' and her first-ever appearance on the Oprah show."

Of course, Winfrey is a big supporter of President Barack Obama, so it'll be interesting to see if and how she and Palin talk about last year's presidential campaign -- not to mention some of Palin's more inflammatory contentions, including that Obama was "palling around with terrorists."

And while it's hardly a sure thing, it seems unlikely that Palin's memoir will join "East of Eden" and "The Sound and the Fury" as recommendations for Oprah's Book Club.

In what way, Oprah?

Caribou Barbie's appearance with the big(gest) "O" is not likely to go well, especially given Winfrey's remarkably low threshold for patent bullshit.

Oprah's low tolerance for BS? How did that work out when she had Bush on during his campaign? The only interview I can think of worse than Oprah would be Barbara Walters and her phony as plastic demeanor. Count me as won't be watching.

Palin, who thinks Katie Couric is too harsh, is going to do a live hour-long interview with Oprah?

This sounds like another "Yes Men" stunt.

I apologize in advance for what I am about to say about some of the members of the fair sex:

The cognitive dissonance sure to be prompted by the realization that Oprah Winfrey thinks Sarah Palin is an idiot will cause the heads of dumb Republican housewives throughout the land to explode.

Interesting position for Oprah. She'll be crucified by one constituency or another, no matter what, but the ratings will be through the roof, assuming Palin shows up.

Interesting! If Governor 'Numb Nuts' thought Katie Couric was too harsh, well, she hasn't seen Oprah.

At first I just wanted to post a gigantic sad face in response to this, but maybe it will finally be a chance for a woman to expose Palin's ignorance without the chance for her to claim sexism or whatever other trick.

A no show wouldn't surprise me... Is there anywhere I can put money on this? haha

Might be hard to find someone to bet against you. Count me as very surprised if she actually shows.

This will surely boost Oprah's viewership. But, I would predict it will deminish Palin's book sales!

There's probably a clause in the contract that says that Sarah can terminate the interview any time she gets a "gotcha" question that she can't answer.
It's all about ratings anyway. Oprah's good at that.

Conservative personalities hawking their books usually do very well. I would imagine the lines of really dumb tea-baggers getting their copy signed, will be stretched out into the streets.

I think Palin's title is great and I hope she has a successful tour. (And get's the jewelry and cosmetics deals she wants, as well.)

Oprah also chose to back the Olympics in Chicago effort. Not a good month so far. I just hope she doesn't speak out for universal health care. (mostly joking)

I'm hoping for a "Million Little Pieces" event of some kind.

I'll bet there is a rider a mile long of taboo subjects on her agreement to appear.

I hear one of her inner circle is speaking up. Check out Frank Bailey whose phone call was recorded for the world to hear....trying to fire her ex-bro-Trooper.

Wonder if it'll be a Palin-Basher or another Palin-Apologizer.
