New Jersey's Republican Governor-elect Chris Christie struck a pretty aggressive tone during his victory speech tonight.

"Tomorrow begins the task of fixing our broken state," he declared.

With 96 percent of precincts reporting, Christie leads Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine 49-45. Corzine called Christie earlier to concede, and gave a concession speech of his own earlier tonight. Christie said Corzine's call was "gracious." Christie's speech, well...

"The people of New Jersey said, 'No more negative personal campaigns,'" Christie said. "In the face of a $30 million onslaught that consisted almost exclusively of negative personal campaigns against me, my family and my friends, the people of New Jersey decided enough is enough.

Tomorrow we're gonna take back New Jersey for our families. Tomorrow we're gonna take back New Jersey for our neighbors. Tomorrow we're gonna take back New Jersey for the least fortunate among us who do not want the government to fix every problem.

After the victory rally Christie got into his car and went the wrong way down a one-way street, knocking down several pedestrians and a baby in a stroller.

Said an unfortunate homeless man, who lost his home to a foreclosure due to negative equity in his home and his job due to the recession, "Thank god the government won't be helping me out! I'll just have to lift myself up by my bootstraps. Say, buddy, you wouldn't happen to have an extra pair of boots I could borrow, would ya?"

Fat, bloated Republican asshole. Hope you're happy with him, New Jerseyans.

Come Jefferson be reasonable ... Christie IS fat, bloated and a Republican. Let's see how his cutting taxes and improving services pledge is actually put into practice. Hint hint, it ain't gonna work and 4 years from now he'll be voted out due to voter anger, a la Christie Whitman. People in NJ want lots of gov't services and top public schools and don't want to pay for them. Good luck managing those expectations.
