Fox News just apologized for showing the wrong book cover during a segment about Sarah Palin's new memoir, Going Rogue.
Instead, they twice showed the cover of Going Rouge, a collection of essays mocking the former governor that came out the same day as Palin's memoir.
Fox has been making several of these mistakes recently. Yesterday, they showed crowds from 2008 McCain-Palin rallies while talking about her book tour; last week, Sean Hannity apologized for using misleading footage during a segment about tea parties.

Now this one I believe was "inadvertent."

Just goes to show again that if you're dishonest enough to misspell the name of your news organization ("Fox" instead of "Faux") you can't be trusted to read any of the actual production notes....

I admit this is a paranoid idea, but I can't shake the feeling that Fox may have done this deliberately so that they could claim all the other times they showed wrong footage or put the wrong letter after a politician's name was also an inadvertent mistake.
In other words, they would rather we think they are a bunch of incompetent buffoons rather than a serious propaganda arm of the GOP.

I was wondering if it was an intentional favor for Palin. Now her lawyers will be able to say even the media is getting the books confused, which will really help their legal campaign to kill Going Rouge.

I don't think it's paranoid for the primary reason that Going Rouge seems to only available through orbooks, so you have to hunt it down specifically; it's not at Amazon, although the Going Rouge coloring book is. On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a plant by a saboteur either.

Good point. If they muddy the waters enough, no one will believe anything anybody says. It will splash back on people who tell the truth!

Geez; they're not man enough to admit to their mistake. "We showed the wrong book cover". Well what do you mean, guys? The wrong book cover?
I think all the comedians who were worried about Bush leaving actually never had it so good. Colbert and Stewart are going to be fighting over this one.

Actually "We showed the wrong book cover," is an awesome way to address the situation. All the necessary facts, absolutely no unnecessary facts, and a "We immediately addressed that," Get Out Of Jail Free Card.
I literally thought as I heard her say it: "What an artful way to handle that, well done!" Literally. And I still say it.
Fuck Fox, BTW, just to make that clear.

Going Rouge will be available at bookstores (including Amazon) on Dec. 1. OR Books decided to sell only directly to consumers for the first two weeks. Crazy--they could have had it on every bookstore front table, next to the Palin book, for two solid weeks, and decided not to!
