Liz Cheney was asked on Fox News a few moments ago about a comment she made on Sunday that seemed to suggest that her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, should run for president in 2012.
Appearing as a guest panelist on Fox News Sunday, Liz Cheney said after video of President Obama bowing to the Japanese emperor was compared to her stiff-backed father meeting the emperor in 2007 that "You could also look at the comparison and think, Cheney 2012."
Neil Cavuto asked Liz Cheney on Fox today what, exactly, she had meant.
"Were you saying your dad should run for president in 2012?"
Her reply:
Well, Neil, I have to tell you, he's my candidate. But I have yet to get him on board with the concept.
"I was freelancing," she said. "But he remains my candidate."
That doesn't mean no Cheneys will run for office. Cavuto asked Liz Cheney if she would run in the future.
She said for the time being she's focused on her PAC Keep America Safe, but that "we'll see what happens in the future."
Late Update: Here's the video.

I really wish Ms. Cheney would find a more suitable place to work through her oedipal issues. The public doesn't need to hear it.

I don't think "Oedipal" is quite right here. Or maybe in some sort of perverse way it is. After all, Mom wrote some pretty hot girl-on-girl fiction in her day.

It should really serve as a big encouragement to homophobic members of the GOP that Liz Cheney openly admits to liking Dick.

Clearly the only solution to this is to make sure Darth Cheney is where he belongs by 2012 - in JAIL.

I know I said earler today that nothing scared me more than Sarah Palin winning the GOP nomination, but I didn't even take Dick Cheney into account... There's no one scarier than Dick Cheney. No one has more charisma. No one has more power to look the American people in the eye and tell it to 'em straight without smirking or sneering.
(And yes, the briar patch I was born in was a crowded briar patch. Why do you ask?)

Well, she may be nothing but loyal ... of course, she supports her dad. Now, it's obvious Darth Vader would have a difficult time being freely elected to any office much less the Presidency. Maybe the Republicans should run Cheney. I doubt he would win and certainly all the dirt on him would surface! We really do need a serious push to investigate 9/11 his role in it !!!

Heck, who needs Obama? If the GOP put up a Cheney/Palin ticket, the Dems could nominate a border collie and a gerbil and still win.

I realize this story is from Fox. What I want to know is, why do other news outlets persist in featuring Liz as someone with a meaningful insight? Are they chasing after Chelsea Clinton, Chip or Amy Carter, or any of the 4 Ford children? Liz Cheney has exactly the same creds as I do, or you, or the barrista who makes your latte. Hey, any of us would be happy to appear on your TV screen any Sunday morning. But my phone never rings...

I think the second paragraph pretty accurately sums it up. Basically, certain loopholes weren't totally thought through (IE people with two jobs, married couples who make a certain amount) and the discrepancies are going to have to be paid back.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm off.

It appears you are correct. And regardless of how accurate GR-Assley's comment is about rushing the stimulus bill, this exemplifies why things like, oh, the health care reform bill, and the climate change bill end up being so long and large. One size doesn't fit all, and so as many cases as can be thought of (and/or lobbyied for) in a given period of time need to be dealt with.
