It's Friday, November 20, 2009, a.k.a. Day Five of Palin-Palooza 2009.
Sarah Palin's week-long book release media blitz continued last night as she went on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor for the very first time to discuss "Going Rogue" (the book), going rogue (the lifestyle choice / McCain campaign and media accusation), and several other roguish things.
Here are the highlights.

It basically looks like she just trotted out her usual. By that I mean flirting with one of her old goat fans.

Flirting? Not this time at least. He was more badgering than Gibson was in fact. Weird, equal part "you're a dumbass, Sarah" with equal part "liberals are scared of your all-American awesomeness and Fox's fair and balanced awesomeness." Of course he starts with how the campaign and the Palin phenom is about, wait for it... him. This guy is pure ego kebob.

Surprisingly 'balanced' in pressing her over her putative illiteracy (what do you read?).

Sorry to keep posting this on Palin-related threads, but I think this is incredibly funny:

I predict a "Day of the Locust" moment if she keeps pissing off Real Americans who stayed home from work, dragged their babies out in the rain, and spent hours waiting on line, just to meet Celebrity Sarah and have her sign her piece-of-shit book for them.

It's because of those darn liberal bloggers and their pesky ethics lawsuits, dontcha know?
She's a pathetic loser who can't even stand up to a few non-powerful Alaskan citizens without cutting and running, for fuck's sake. And she doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone but herself, as a few hundred of her former fans have just discovered.

Stop giving this clown any attention please.
The one thing I realized these last few days is that I, as you, was wasting to much time on her.
The work of the AP is useful, giving her video webspace is useless.
Why? Because the AP published facts in writing, which robs her of her sole advantage: she's telegenic.

Did she call Katie Couric the media elite? Man she is dumber than I thought. And Sarah, it wasn;t the D, it was the using your position to settle personal disputes and you are not normal. Both of these people need psychiatric help.

After watching this interview, the impression I got was that Sarah spent a lot of the book trashing the McCain people. We all know that those McCain people can (and in many cases have) proven that her account is outright false. But, Bill O. seems to buy her story and in fact wants her to unleash the righteous anger that he feels her side of the story deserves. Only, she knows her side is BS and so she's left backtracking trying to calm Bill O. down, choosing to look weak and dumb rather than admit to all the blatant lies she (and her ghost writer) littered her book with.

I've seen at least two interviews in which she was asked why she didn't answer Couric. In each she says that she was too insulted to do so. I have yet to see any interview in which she does reveal what she reads. Has any one seen her name anything she does read? As far as I can tell she has yet to answer that question.

The Wall Street Journal remains a very good paper, at least for the time being. The editorial page is staffed by lunatics, of course, but the reportage has always been excellent. Lumping it together with Newsmax is rather far off the mark.

Oh Sara, you are just so darned real-'murika! If only the colored-folks, the liberal-minded Jews, and the welfare-loving, lazy homeless would eff off and let you and your brood be real-'murika all the time instead of having to explain what it means to real-'murika to us liberal 'murika-haters. If only! Then you could spend your days real-'murika'ing moose from the back of Todd's snow machine and "loving all Alaska's wildlife -- with mashed potatoes and corn!!" The part missing from palin is the people around her.
Where's the interview of her husband?
And how about her father?
Or mother..........
Where's the info on all her college days and why doesn't she ever talk about her church run by a real witch doctor!??
What is insulting to me is the fraud that the media perpetuates about palin and the effects it has over my life when the media creates the fiction that her crazed followers somehow represent the views of the day.
My bet is the real story of palin is far more bizarre then we know and I hope she really pisses off that kid she pretends to like(the one who is the father of her daughters baby)hehehe, because he is the only one willing to tell us.

She was caught off guard and annoyed when she was asked in an interview what she reads? She thought a 22-year-old D from one of her many colleges would be the big thing that could harm her candidacy? OMFG! Could she be any less aware?
Yet her rabid followers will see these admissions of cluelessness as somehow an asset, and love her all the more.

The following bit of Palin-speak was recovered from the unedited version of the O'Reilly interview. Even he threw up in his mouth while listening to it...
"As we prepare to celebrate our country's Day of Thanksgiving, I wish to take this opportunity to express my great appreciation for being so blessed to be thankful for this great nation of ours....that I appreciate....and am thankful for...which makes me so blessed....to be able to appreciate our great nation...of ours...of which I am a part...of.
I also wish to express how blessed I am to live in the great state of Alaska. After all, anyone can appreciate a moose, but only a true Alaskan can reduce it to a large pot of moose chili. (wink to cameras here)
I am also so appreciative of all those who appreciate my blessed family, including Trapp, Trog, Peter-Piper, Truck, Barstool, and Wallow, as well as future babies Tinsel, Teflon, and Tallow."
