When discussing the Fort Hood shootings on The 700 Club yesterday, Pat Robertson called Islam "not a religion, but a political system," and called for the U.S. to treat its followers "as we would members of the Communist party, or members of some fascist group."
Robertson also claimed that suspected shooter Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was only allowed to stay in his post "because of political correctness. We just don't talk about somebody's quote religion, even if the religion involves beheading infidels and pouring boiling oil down their throats."
He later continued:
Islam is a violent, I was gonna say religion but it's not a religion, it's a political system. It's a violent political system bent on the overthrow of the governments of the world and world domination. That is the ultimate aim. And they talk about Infidels and all this, but the truth is that's what the game is. So you're dealing with a, not a religion, you're dealing with a political system. And I think we should treat it as such, and treat it's adherents as such, as we would members of the Communist Party, or members of some fascist group.

Thank God Christianity could never be described as a violent political system. If it were Pat Robertson could well be described as a terrorist.

Violent is already clear - remember the clinic bombings? The lone gunman who attacked a church for being "too liberal"?
Don't even get me started on his sponsorship of Christian Dominionists at Regent University - they aren't even coy about their plans to overthrow the US government and establish a "Biblical" system of laws.

And now a word from Robertson's boss:
"But I say to you, Do not make use of force against an evil man; but to him who gives you a blow on the right side of your face let the left be turned.
You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:39 - 45 (from the Sermon on the Mount)
So much for our Western Christian Values.

Pat Robertson is exactly right. Wake up America, we have been blessed because we are a Christian nation, people don't want to admit that BUT look at history, since we have gotten away from the one true God our nation is in decline. It is sad when someone calls themselves a Christian and commits a horrible act BUT our GOD and His Word doesn't promote violence. Can the same be said for Islam and the koran? Case closed...It's time to stop being politically correct and to call it as it is. God bless Pat Robertson for his courage and He does.

Why does Pat state the negativity of other religions when trying to point out their shortfalls in an attempt in bolstering the greatness of "his" religion (I stress 'his' as the views you present are not typical of the mainstream of other Christian ideologies or that of the Catholic Church). Pat tries to make it a point to separate Christianity form other beliefs based on the perceived and sometimes real harsh actions/punishments dealt out pursuant to their religious laws.
Do I need to remind him of so called Christian behavior throughout history as well as the declared laws by which Christianity is based and has been used to perpetrate horrible abuses on others outside and even within of its own religious congregations or has this escaped him or is it for purposes of his own self glorification. Throughout history Christians both zealots, aristocratic and the general populace have tortured Jew's, Muslims and any others through witch trials and inquisitions thereby burning alive, boiling in oil, stretching on the rack and other horrible activities on its victims in their so called pursuit of covering the globe in Christianity and did so as they pronounced in the name and by the grace of God.
Thus I ask you Pat; is Christianity a religion or a political movement bent a spreading its own ideologies and pursuit of power and financial gain as its actions have and continue to be no different than those of other religions that you have deemed fit to criticize.
