The Republican National Committee, in their continued attacks of the Obama administration's stimulus plan, has created a series of "Wanted" posters -- one for each of 33 states -- showing Vice President Biden in a sheriff's hat alongside the number of jobs lost in that state since the stimulus passed.

The idea is a riff off of a speech President Obama gave back in March.

"Around the White House we call him 'The Sheriff' because if you're misusing taxpayer money, you'll have to answer to him," Obama said to a group of DOT employees.

In a blog post, the RNC encouraged supporters to send the signs around:

So mount up, posse, and send your state's WANTED poster to your friends and family. The way the tumbleweeds are rolling through Stimulus Jobs Valley, Sheriff Biden's going to need all of the help he can get!

Still disingenuous as they're taking the job loss numbers from the day the stimulus was passed. And how many were lost before the stimulus was passed - for arguments sake say the same number of days before as it's been days since it's passed.

What's with the asterisk? Is there small print at the bottom of the page that says, "Would be 47,000 if no stimulus?"

And, really, it's Joe Biden we're talking about here. He's just the VP. Do they think the VP runs the country when the Dems are in office, too?

I know. And every time my boss brings his umbrella to work, it rains! Sure, he stays dry, but think about how many other people get wet because he brought that umbrella.

Are they trying to make Biden look like Dukakis in the tank?

Sure would be nice if the GOP put even a TINY bit of energy into something constructive. I mean, whatever side you're on, we're all in this together.

If it were up to the Republican's to solve unemployment, they would probably issue an instructional video like this:

We know what they would do - they stuffed half the stimulus bill with it: tax cuts for the wealthy. You see, if Warren Buffet can just start not paying taxes at all, he (and the rest of the megarich) will be able to hire all the unemployed Americans to do humiliating menial jobs.

One wonders if the cowardly, inept Democrats have the presence of mind to produce their own posters with Bush & Cheney showing how many jobs were lost since they took office and how many we've been losing since they left office for which they are entirely responsible? Probably not. Most likely they will sit there and let the Republicans flail away, writing the narrative for the press and for the public.

Now that's a clever and highly collectible poster. Where do I get one?

I still realize that health care & sustainable energy bill make up a sort of job bill as two pillars on the whole, given both haven't come out of nowhere, rather reflect the severity and magnitude of this great recession, while the stimulus package, less than a fifth of which has been mobilized thus far - $155bn out of $787bn- is acting as a groundwork.

For those who are one injury or illness away from bankruptcy, the stimulus money is largely redirected toward the financial market, meanwhile, 100s of companies (with $13 Trillion) are demanding strong Climate Deal in Copenhagen just like environmental activists, and a coalition of more than 500 global businesses is also demanding ambitious new climate deal, namely, money is sitting idle awaiting post oil-based economy.

It might be worth noting away from job saving and creation, GDP growth etc, the added value on the stock market alone appears to stay at roughly $1trillion, which could help one see the forest in light of conclusion of the historic health care and sustainable energy act.

Thank You !
