On ABC's This Week, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said he will not vote to confirm Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to another five-year term.

No, I absolutely will not vote for Mr. Bernanke. He is part of the problem. If he is the smartest guy in the world, why didn't he do anything to prevent us from sinking into this disaster that Wall Street caused and that he was a part of? No, I will not for Bernanke to stay on as chairman.

Thank God for Senator Sanders... one of the last real Democrats!

Bernie in 2012!

The vote will still be 70 to 12 with a handful of cowards absent.

But it's nice to see there is one honest man in the senate.

The majority are bought and paid for. Bernie is great, but one little minnow swimming with the sharks. He and Dennis Kucinich should run in 2012. Not that they'd get to be part of any debates or anything...

How true. Bernie and Dennis would hopelessly screw up the predetermined script for any debate ... by telling the truth.

I doubt there will be a dem primary in 2012 and Obama would have to screw up pretty bad for them to get much support as independents. But while we're talking about dream tickets, how about Feingold / Leahy?

As for the Bernanke flak, apparently the two sides of the socialist coin (corporatist v. populist) don't socialize at the party picnic.
