The public option may not be a deal breaker for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

In response to a question from George Stephanopoulos on ABC's This Week, Sanders, a strong supporter of a public health insurance option, wouldn't go so far as to say definitively that he would filibuster any Senate health care bill that doesn't include a public option.

"I would be very reluctant to support legislation that did not have a strong public option," Sanders said, adding that "I gotta see what ends up happening."

Sanders reminded viewers that he's hardly alone in backing the public option.

I'm speaking for other senators. I'm speaking for many members of the House who are going to fight, and demand a public option -- and a strong one at that.

Get ready for your toothless, watered-down-to-a-joke, lie of a health care "reform plan" to pass!

All hail the sacred fillibuster, the most important aspect of our democracy. Of course Sanders won't fillibuster. Only Republicans are allowed to do that in the upside-down world of the contemporary Democratic party. Democratic capitulation to the mighty fillibuster, even just the threat of one, is another given in this world.

God forbid they should change outdated parlimentary rules to pass critical legislation that the country supports. The discredited GOP, whose mismanagement of the country and not their political skills, handed the Democrats power might get upset!

The post-LBJ Democrats, the all-time champions of political weakness!

Good for him. I know that the public option can pass and would do amazing things. We just need to make it robust and set it on a foundation that has already been tested. Here is one that's working well in Ohio. http://cli.gs/z3AtaY/
