As ThinkProgress first pointed out, Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) appeared at a fundraiser in Canada last weekend, and expressed his concerns that a "big tent" philosophy that "accommodates every view" will be detrimental to conservatives.

Huckabee first said that it is "vital that the conservative message not get watered down."

He continued:

One of the things that concerns me is that in the United States there's a real talk of 'maybe we need to have this big tent and make sure that we just accommodate every view.' That's what will kill the conservative movement. Conservatives are conservatives because they have convictions and convictions aren't preferences.

"You'll change your preferences. Your convictions are the things you'll die for," he said.

Since when were conservatives willing to die for anything? That's what the poor and the brown are for in their worldview.

Mike Huckabee's razor-sharp insight = Wayne DuMond + Maurice Clemmons = GOP FAIL.

What will kill Huckabee's presidential hopes is that he's been defended by the left. That will anger conservatives more than anything else. Well, fine. At least when we have to defend a Democratic governor, we can say we defended Huckabee in the same circumstances.

I'm all for the GOP to being more Sideshow than Big Top. If it is a Freak Show they are trying to develop, it seems to be working out very well.

The conservative party is just about dead anyways with a majority of the members being caught having gay sex, deviant sex and just all around debauchery. Although I have been reading that there is now a difference between the GOP and the republican party. I am thinking that there is a line beginning to form between the two.

There's a new wrinkle to Repukeliscumian perversion, sexual coercion and ... well, perversion. Ron Jetton, until Nov Speaker of the Missouri House, was arrested some days ago for using the date rape drug to "prep" some woman for rape. Poor Ron! He had just started a hot-shot political coercion and lobbying firm, and now this!! A woman accuses him of rape, JUST BECAUSE he spiked her drink with GBA!!! The nerve of that woman!! As other famous Repukeliscums say (like John Thune and the 30 senators who voted against the Franken bill), "If it's happening anyway, you might as well relax and enjoy it."

Yeah, those conservatives have a really big tent, stretching from Glenn Beck to Rush Limbaugh. Wow. That's really huge. When they try to stretch it to accomodate Rick Santorum AND Newt Gingrich, well, THEY'VE GONE TOO FAR.

Huckabee's right AND he's correct.
