Earlier today on the House floor, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) weighed in on Afghanistan, urging the U.S. to consider the interests of Hamid Karzai.
Or, as King called him, "Muhammad" Karzai.
King said: "So we should always look at, what's the interests of Afghanistan, what are the interests of Muhammed Karzai, the president. He'd like to stay in power, he'd like to serve out his second full term."

Because mixing up someone's name is evidence he is a racist islamophobe. Give me a break.

Lame troll is lame.
And we already knew that Tancredo 2: Iowa Boogaloo was a racist. It's just that he's a blatant, dumb racist too.

We must transfer the money before it's too late!
As a (former?) Unocal schmuck and CIA asset, Karzai is living proof there has never been a better time, as he said, to have "patience." The money, courtesy of U.S. taxpayers via Rep. King et al, has little to do with Karzai's altruism, of course. He is the mayor of Kabul, whenever he's within his security perimeter, now provided by Xe.
If Steve King says "Go with a winner!" (like Karzia) we should all take notice. And flee.

The problem with this statement is not that he made it. Sure, as a one off it could just be a slip of the tongue. But that's not what is going on within the GOP. That are constantly making these mistakes. And at some point we have to realize that these aren't simple factual errors. These are people that either:
1) Have no fucking clue what they are talking about
2) Are so racist they think all Arabs are Muslim and are all called Muhammad
3) Just assume no one cares about getting the names right
This is CONSTANTLY happening with the GOP. And it should concern Republican supporters.

Of course, Karzai isn't an Arab, he's an Afghan.

Wouldn't it be wise to spell Muhammad as 'Mohammed' in the tag line? After all, we are talking about Afghanistan and not, say, an Arab country.
I mean, if the ultimate point is to say "we're smarter than you are, at least we know the guy's name is Hamid....", we should at least attempt to get the common spelling for the region down.
Or am I playing petty gotcha politics when mocking King for muffing Karzai's name? Irregardless of the right wing prattle that comes out of King's mouth, the guy has gone to Iraq and Afghanistan a half dozen times. I find it highly unlikely he doesn't know Hamid Karzai's first name and most likely absentmindedly combined President Karzai and First Vice President Mohammed Fahim's names....
but, the only way to know for sure is to call up King and ask the question. Press credentials anyone?

First and/or last names are irrelevant to every dead American teenager, except to their families. While they had no beef with, well, anyone, they paid with their lives on behalf of, well, nothing. Job well done; Rummy, Dubya and Dick are proud.

Maybe not widely accepted, but the portmanteau, irregardless, is in fact, a word.
Suffices to say, if critics like yourself had influence, I'm sure there would be no Jabberwocky.
