Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin may have just made NBC an offer they can't refuse, after watching videos of Saturday Night Live sketches making fun of each of them.

"Sarah and I would like to make an offer to NBC," said Beck. "Would you like to make the offer?

"I think we should co-host." said Palin. "How could they say no?"

The two then made a personal wager between each other -- Beck saying that NBC won't accept, Palin saying that they will -- with the stake of the bet being a steak. Palin added: "I can envision episode after episode of things that I could mock myself."

I HOPE SNL will refuse. I certainly won't watch if they do turn over their show to two right-wing idiots.

I hope so too. Preferably Lorne will issue a statement saying something like:

First of all, when we had Sarah on she didn't do half the things she had agreed to, which, having never completed anything before, shouldn't have surprised me. But more importantly, I don't think it's possible for caricatures like Beck and Palin to be any funnier than they already are in real life. Anything our writers might come up with would pale in comparison, and be both totally unbelievable and totally un-funny. If I want to have them on the SNL we'll just run tape of them during Weekend Update — and it won't cost us a dime.

Yeah, Palin's SNL appearance was remarkably like her term as Alaska's governor. She promised that she'd be there and that she'd participate with what needed to be done, but instead she just kind of sat there to look famous and backed out of her responsibilities.

as funny as it could be (if the cast members show their disdain), i would rather not have to see these people on a show I actually attempt to watch

I hope SNL gets them on the show and then do parody after parodies of the two. There should be enough material on them to fry them.

Well, I hope they get the gig, and then the cast walks out, leaving them to fend for themselves before a hostile studio audience, that is, if they can find enough people with nothing better to do in New York City on a Saturday night.

Palin/Beck, 1/13/10: Ah, the ineffable sensuality of Sarah Palin; the power and the presence; the black battle- boots, that Irish auburn hair. She is our Celtic warrior queen, our American Boadicea. She will lead us against Moloch & Mammon. What excitement, what joy she brings us!

SailorManLove is really proving Poe's Law...

BTW, it's particularly funny to have someone who won't speak at a convention unless there's a six-figure check involved "fighting against Mammon". You don't think she's doing the Faux News gig for free, do you?

Just for chuckles, SNL should put it to a telephone vote like they did Andy Kaufman and Larry the Lobster.

You can watch them do that on their own network. what , isn't that enough for them?
please don't infect any more waves than you already do. nothing new..or funny .coming from either one of em.

Small problem... conservatives aren't funny.

They lack the requisite self awareness and intelligence to locate humor in the human condition. They are mean and greedy people so they have no inclination to laugh themselves, much less make other people laugh.

Leave comedy to the creative liberal professionals.

The monologue would be painfully unfunny - which is why they didn't let her do one the last time they had her on. It could also be the first time there's no studio audience, either for want of interest or because Palin wants to be sure there's none of them "media types" (ie bloggers) anywhere near it.

Best case scenario: Beck wins the bet. As a gesture of friendship he offers to share the steak with Palin live on FOX. They both choke on it.

I've never cared for SNL, especially since Chevy Chase and Ackroid and the gang left, but I'd watch it again for Palin and Beck. Love them both and hope to see one broadcasting another 20 years and the other running our country as soon as possible.

I think you meant to write ruining our country, instead of running it. Ya see when the GOP tries to run something they just can’t help ruining it instead. It’s the way the world works. Conservatives only useful purpose is to act as a sea anchor for liberal ideas, so that as the country does move forward, it moves at a more moderate rate. Easier to see problems up ahead if your not going too fast. The sooner conservatives understand their purpose, the sooner we can dig ourselves out of the sh*t hole conservatism put us into, when they were “running” our country.

These two are actually way more funny than SNL has been in decades. Only when they aren't trying, though.
