Idaho State Rep. Jim Clark (R) has introduced legislation that would keep the federal government from requiring Idaho residents to buy health insurance.
The bill, called the "Idaho Health Freedom Act," was introduced today to the House State Affairs Committee, and says that "every person in the state of Idaho is and shall continue to be free from government compulsion in the selection of health insurance options."
According to McClatchy, Clark told the committee upon the bill's introduction: "It is time all legislators who believe in states' rights to move from talking about it making policy to make it happen."
The measure was co-sponsored by Rep. Lynn Luker, R-Boise and Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Eagle.

Does this Idaho legislation include a provision that would prohibit hospitals from treating uninsured patients?

Don't they teach civics and history in Idaho? Have they never heard of nullification?

All they got rid of is the mandate? Seems like they're happy enough to keep the rest of it. This is an example of both having and eating cake.
Hopefully the mandate does ultimately get dropped imo.

Don't give me no crud, I'm an Idaho spud!
We don't want no stinkin' health care. We want our $1.21 back for every buck we send the feds. And we want fries with that.
