DNC Chair Tim Kaine said today that there's "a huge corrosive civil war within the Republican party" that "is going to continue to be a factor that will work in our favor in 2010."
On The Early Show, Kaine was asked how the recent Democratic retirements would affect the party in 2010.
Kaine responded that "the retirements are really on the other side. And no surprise. There's a huge corrosive civil war within the Republican party that we see playing out all over the country, that i think is going to continue to be a factor that will work in our favor in 2010."
He also said that the passage of health care reform "will create a real tailwind for the president and the party," and that the Democrats may "surprise some people" in November.

Bunning, Bond and Voinivich are retiring, not to mention 20 GOP house seats. Martinez' seat in Florida will be a brutal fight between Crist & Rubio and if Meeks gets his head out of his ass he might walk away with it. The media is creating a huge dustup over nothing as more GOP seats are in play, and Dodd had a snowball's chance after the banking crisis, so is doing the right thing by falling on his sword.

Yeah but conservatives are obedient by nature. They'll fall in line by November.
Liberals, on the other hand...

Past performance yadda yadda. But I don't dispute that you've got a point that may be prescient.
Glass half full: The GOP and "conservatives" may be in for another rude shock, should they find they've won a majority of the D seats in play, but lost a majority of the seats in play.
Y'know, I actually had a pony when I was a kid.
Turns out, mucking stalls "builds character".
Be careful what you ask for - particularly if there's a chance that manure is included.
