I'd like to be outraged that Beck and O'Rly are shilling for ripoff gold companies. But then I realize that that means their teabagger followers are the ones getting ripped off, and I just can't...

Beck's, Palin's, O'Reilly's, Limbaugh's followers are constantly being grifted by their dear leaders....buy this, buy that, buy my book, pay to hear me speak, blah.......and Balin Peck O'Rimbaugh is laughing all the way to the bank.....I would like to think that at a certain point these people are going to catch on, but I don't know.
It's like being part of a fan club, I guess....you can have the super decoder ring, the secret handshake, the beliefs manual, the poster and calendar, etc.....which one of them is going to do the first music video/CD?
If only they would put their energy into making the country better, instead of a more paranoid, hateful, divided one.

O'reilly needs to defend himself against the outrage of his listeners when they realize that they've been cheated by the most trusted namde in news! Weiner is one Dem with balls, and I love him, along with Rachel Maddow. People like that make the lame Mainstream media ashamed and rightly so.

Beck is setting himself up to be held liable in a lawsuit, no matter what Bill-o says. I know buying any gold at current prices is bullshit as an investment vehicle, that buying gold coins is double bullshit and buying someone's special super duper coins is triple bullshit. I suspect Beck knows it is bullshit as well, but since his whole brand is being the one voice of reason for his sheeple, this amounts to misrepresenting the nature of the goods and services at issue. In other words, Beck is conspiring to defraud his viewers. Someone will sue him over this, and he will probably settle rather than have anything be publicized. At least Bill-o can counsel Beck on how to get through that sort of embarrassment.

Question for the crowd here because it confuses me. Thom Hartmann is also shilling gold on his radio show. Same thing? I flinch when I hear it. I love Thom, but this is so obviously not a good investment. Thoughts???

If I had a job I'd send send the good Congressman money! I love his willingness to stand up to the right wingnuts. I wish there were more like him!

In my opinion, buying gold coins is rich man's coin collecting hobby, not an investment.
Even the NYSE traded ETF representing stored gold bullion (ticker sym GLD) is not without risk, but the markup is tiny compared to coins. Risk was like this between May 27, 2008 and today: if you bought GLD on May 27, 2008, the price fluctuated about -20% to +35% between then and now. When did one have to sell it? That was the risk...the day one needed it was a bad market day for GLD

Weiner has more fire and mettle in him than most other politicians I have seen in a long time. It's shame that so many are too wrapped up in getting reelected than for advocating what is best for our country and citizens.

Weiner is an intelligent, seasoned politician--a New York Jew, no less (Go Tribe! My tribe, that is.). He's tough, well-spoken, and not easily intimidated. Beck, on the other hand, is an incoherent, ignorant loon. Weiner would destroy Beck. Which Beck would then blame on being "trapped", or Weiner being "impolite", or "hostile," or some damn thing.

I'm putting the over/under on Beck actually accepting at 50-1.

Weiner is simply an American treasure. Bright, unyielding, charismatic, and possesses a well-calibrated moral compass - and still comprehends reality.

Out of all that back and forth, the telling comment was by "O'Really?". When the Congressman pushes him he finally admits "I don't care!" In every debate there is a turning point. In this argument, that was it. Bill-O doesn't care. His only concern is ratings and ad sales. I like others here don't ever watch this show. If the congressman and Beck do appear on the show to debate, I'm sure I will tune in. Can't say I enjoy blood sports (which this will be-poor Beck) but I'll make an exception in this case. Beck debating Weiner is like bringing a knife to a gun fight!!!

'Weiner' is a true seditious progressive who does not believe in the 'Rule of Law', instead he believes in 'Rulers Law'. Going after Glen Beck instead of Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac or Chris Dodd proves just how big a believer in 'Rulers Law' 'The Weiner' really is...he's right up there with 'Chairman Obama'.
