Sarah Palin took to her Twitter today, the 90th anniversary of women's suffrage, to philosophize on an age-old lady issue: Feminists. What are they? According to Palin, little more than a "cackle of rads."

Palin, the only major politician who intentionally tweets made-up or misused words and then plays victim to liberal snobbery -- a technique that doesn't necessarily work -- tweeted today, "Who hijacked term:"feminist"?A cackle of rads who want 2 crucify other women w/whom they disagree on a singular issue; it's ironic (& passé)".
What the dickens is a "cackle of rads"?

  • Cabal of radicals

  • The best punk band you've never heard of

  • The most violent of the violent English soccer hooligans

  • Enviable laughter emanating from the cool kids' table

  • Illiterate nonsense from some idiot's Twitter feed

  • A series of words meaning nothing, but which can be put on t-shirts

Anyway, happy voting anniversary to all the gals out there! Now stop asking for things, okay?

A cackle of rads is still far preferable to a grifter of Palins.

A "cackle" is a group of hyenas, like a "pride" of lions. "Rads"? Maybe "rapid abortion dispensers". That's what Emily's List is all about.

Nice try, but no soap....it's a made up term, just like 'a dazzle of zebras' is a made up term by writers taking literary license. Her voice does qualify for the Merriam-Webster definition.

Actually, for as much as I hate to say this. A pack of hyena's is called a cackle.

Whether Palin knew it or not before she said it is debatable. But an argument could be made that her analogy could be construed as accurate. Referring to radicals as hyena's is not a stretch.

The Chiclet-to-the-moon stretch here is believing there was the remotest possibility that Bible Spice knew what she was saying. Then again, some things are hard to refudiate.

It's the first time I'd heard of a cackle of hyenas. The very common incorrect phrase is pack, incorrect because hyenas aren't actually dogs, and the more common correct phrase is clan. Cackle is used but it's rare.

I doubt she knew this. I expect she was going for "gaggle" and missed. Also, since she considers feminists humorless, comparing them to hyenas is a very bad metaphor.

And since this is a thread about high falutin' book larnin', I am going to have to call the apostrophe police on you. Twice.

It's also technically possible for there to be more than one internet - 'internets' - but GW Bush sure didn't know that when he coined the term some years back.

The accepted zoological term for a group of hyenas is "clan". Considering the dynamics of the Palin family, a clan of hyenas seems an apt description of them.

The bulk of these are pretty obscure. The likelihood of Palin being familiar with a cackle of hyenas is pretty low. She didn't even know if Africa was a continent or a country. A herd of moose or a pod of whales, maybe. I'm sure she'll pretend she knew it all along but we know better.

every time i see anything about this bint, i think of the simpson's tree house of horror episode where the product mascots came to life and started destroying springfield. in order to kill them, lisa and an ad jingle writer made a song - "just don't look" - and got the whole town to ignore the monsters and they died. can we do that to palin?

Were it not for femanism, Ms Palin would be an unknown mother of five canning food for the winter in her basement kitchen. She touts a religion that champions the patriarchy, but obviously wears the pants in the family. She reminds me of Phyliss Schafly, who made a career traveling the country telling women they shouldn't have a career. The only difference is as annoying as Schafley is, she doesn't murder the English language.

See, this is what I'm talking about. If the media was really professional, this wouldn't be reported. I'm getting so goddamn sick of this woman dominating the press although she has no credentials, intelligence or anything of substance to add to the national debate. She's nothing more then a narcissistic idiot who cannot take any criticism at all.

Totally Agree!!

Same with Glenn Beck. If everyone just ignored him on Martin Luther King's Day at his big rally, it would deflate his big "event" along with his big ego. It's the attention he and Sarah, and the rest of "them" thrive on.

Like I said to someone else in another post, I agree with you per se, but the thing about ignoring them is that they have a network dedicated to everything wing-nut. If Fixed News didn't exist, people like that wouldn't have an outlet, but since it's here, they will always have a source of communication with the knuckle-dragging troglodytes of the right.

Well, golly-gosh, the Quitter does it again. I think the correct term is "a cackle of Palins." It's clear by now that she owns that word. That dumb c--t (rhymes with "crunt") even cackles when she Tweets. For a true Patriot-American she uses a French word (musta taken half a semester at one of her five colleges she attended. She is also dismissing the fact that men can be feminists, except for her man TAAHHHDDDDD, who did the best he could to keep his woman barefoot and pregnant, but one day she ran away and the rest is fucking history.

I finally figured out her Twitter name - the "USA" stands for "Uneducated Screechy Asshole." If i'm wrong, i'm sure she'll tweet me the right answer. I'm sure she takes exception to "uneducated".

When is someone going to ask this dipshit about supporting secession from the United States. Remind her there's a videotape out there.

Bristol, Willow, Tripp, Branch, Twig, River, Stream, change your names and get real lives.

She wants to believe that you can be a feminist AND believe that it is alright to force women to remain pregnant. Nobody should be forced to bring a pregnancy to term when the resulting child will have a lesser chance at life.

It is my hope that Palin somehow manages to maintain some sort of presence just prior to presidential elections. She elected Obama and McCain knows it. If she is not responsible for more sane Democratic voters heading to polls, I don't know what other purpose she serves. This woman is perfect for the Democratic Party. Keep it up Sarah!

She just doesn't get it. She does not have the intellectual capacity to learn anything that is not spoon fed to her.
Feminism does not demand that we all agree on a subject.
It allows women to make up their own minds to be given the same rights that men enjoy and to be in control of their own bodies.
palin is using this as another wedge issue, pitting Them against us.
It need not be and should not be that way.
Does palin even know that women could not vote at a point in history? Does she think she would have been Governor of a state without advocacy of the brave women that went before us?
Does she think she would have made millions of dollars on a book? Remember a time when women could not even be published?

She does not have the right to tell other women how to live and what to do.Nor does she have the right to re write history.
